Guidelines

The Organizing Committee of the XXXIX Pan-American Congress of Otorhinolaryngology 2025, and of the 81st Chilean Congress of Otorhinolaryngology and Head and Neck Surgery invites you to propose a Pan-American Symposium for this event to be held in Santiago, Chile from November 11 to 14, 2025. The Pan-American Symposia are instances in which all members of the participating Pan-American Societies will be able to apply, proposing and organizing the discussion of topics related to our specialty and according to their area of interest or professional development.

The requirements to apply for a Pan American Symposium are the following:

  1. All symposia must have at least one organizer/director who must belong to one of the Otorhinolaryngology and Allied Sciences Societies participating in the Pan-American Congress (excluding residents), and have the support of their local Society.
  2. Participating in a Pan-American Symposium does not release the panelists from the registration fee of the congress.
  3. ENT physicians, physicians from other specialties, professionals from related fields of English or Spanish speaking researchers will be accepted as panelists.
  4. The maximum duration of this activity is 1 to 2 hours, with a minimum of 4 panelists.
  5. The topic to be discussed must be from the specialty of Otolaryngology and Head and Neck Surgery and/or related sciences (examples: education, forensic medicine, basic sciences, simulation and others).
  6. The cost of transportation, lodging and meals for the panelists will be the responsibility of the organizers of the symposium, and not of the congress organizing committee.
  7. A higher score will be assigned to those symposia with novel topics, carried out by multicenter teams, with speakers from several Pan-American countries, or including female panelists.
  8. Those interested in participating must fill out the online form on the congress website. The deadline for applications is January 15th, 2025.
  9. Once the acceptance is received, you must reconfirm your participation in the scientific program within 14 days. It is also necessary that your registration for the event is completed before March 31 to ensure your participation in the scientific program.

IMPORTANT NOTE: Acceptance of the Symposium will depend exclusively on the evaluation made by the 2025 Scientific Committee, whose decision will be communicated as of January 15 2025. Submitting an application does NOT guarantee that the Symposium will be selected.

Call for Pan-american symposium

The Organizing Committee of the XXXIX Pan-American Congress of Otorhinolaryngology 2025, in conjunction with the 81st Chilean Congress of Otorhinolaryngology and Head and Neck Surgery invites you to submit abstracts for podium and poster presentations at the upcoming event. The Congress will take place in Santiago, Chile, from November 11th to14th, 2025.

Abstract submission will be open from January 15, 2025 to August 31, 2025. Authors should submit their abstracts through the form available on the website. Due to limited openings for podium presentations, the Scientific Committee may designate some podium presentation submissions as posters, in which case the presenter will be notified. Authors of accepted abstracts for either podium or poster presentations will be notified by email no later than September 25, 2025.

Please note, presenters of accepted abstracts (either podium or poster) must register for the Congress and be available in person to present at the assigned time and date. Further details will be provided upon acceptance.

Instructions for Abstract Submissions of Via Web Platform

Abstract format for podium presentations and posters

The abstract should not exceed 330 words (from the introduction to the end of the conclusions). Use “Times New Roman” font, size 12, single-spaced.

Each abstract must include:

  1. Title: Clearly state the subject oft he paper.
  2. Author information: Include the names of the presenting author and co-authors (first name and surname)
  3. Affilitation: Specify where the work was conducted
  4. Funding Source: Indicate the origin of the work's funding.
  5. Ethics approval: All works must be approved by the corresponding Ethics Committee or Institutional Review Board. For works involving only the review of clinical records, a written authorization from the head of the service, on behalf of the facility's director, is required. This must be explicitly stated in the submission.
  6. Abstract structured as follows:
    • Introduction
    • Aims and objectives
    • Material and method
    • Results
    • Discussion and conclusions
  7. Declaration of conflicts of interest and sources of external funding, if any.

Panamerican Lecture Guidelines

The Organizing Committee of the 2025 XXXIX PanAmerican Congress of Otolaryngology and the 81st Chilean Congress of Otolaryngology - Head and Neck Surgery invites you to submit your PanAmerican Lectures for this event, to be held in Santiago, Chile, from November 11 to 14, 2025.

 

All members of participating PanAmerican Societies are encouraged to take part in this activity by presenting topics relevant to our specialty and aligned with their area of interest or professional development.

This will provide the opportunity to include a lecture in the scientific program of the XXXIX PanAmerican Congress.

To apply for a PanAmerican Lecture, please provide the following:

  1. Language: Spanish or English
  2. Applicants: Otolaryngologists, physicians from other specialties, related professionals, and researchers who speak English or Spanish.
  3. Abstract: Applicants must submit an abstract of the lecture not exceeding 250 words, including the title.
  4. Duration: The maximum duration for this activity is 10 minutes, including time for questions.
  5. Topic: The topic to be discussed must be related to Otolaryngology and Head and Neck Surgery and/or related sciences (examples: teaching, forensic medicine, basic sciences, simulation, and others).
  6. Expenses: Travel, accommodation, and meal costs for speakers will be the responsibility of the speakers themselves, not the Congress Board.
  7. Registration Fee: Receiving a lecture slot does not exempt the participant from paying the congress registration fee.
  8. Application: Those interested in participating must complete the online form on the website. The application deadline is January 15th, 2025.
  9. Presenters: Only one author shall be permitted to present the paper. The designated presenter must complete their registration by June 30.
